Google has officially introduced its next generation of smartphones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The new lineup focuses on camera improvements, Gemini-powered features, better durability and long-term software support.

Every model is powered by Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, designed around Gemini Intelligence. The phones can use contextual information to provide proactive assistance, improve photography and handle more AI-powered tasks directly on the device.

What is new in the Pixel 11?

The standard Pixel 11 features a new 48MP main camera sensor. According to Google, it offers 56% greater light sensitivity, which should produce better photos and videos in dark rooms and at night. Its 5x telephoto camera also supports up to 30x Super Zoom.

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL now start with 256GB of storage. All three support Google’s magnetic Pixelsnap accessory system and Qi 2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

The larger Pixel 11 Pro XL also offers faster wired charging. Google says a 15-minute charge can provide up to 15 hours of battery life, although real-world results will depend on settings and usage.

HiLight adds glanceable notifications

One of the most distinctive additions to the Pro models is HiLight. The system uses colored LEDs around the camera flash to display incoming call alerts and indicate whether Gemini is listening, processing a request or responding.

Users can assign different colors to important contacts, making it possible to recognize a caller while the phone is face down. Google says HiLight will gain additional capabilities in the future, including message notifications from selected contacts.

A thinner and stronger Pixel 11 Pro Fold

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold features a redesigned gearless hinge, brighter displays and IP68 water and dust resistance. It is approximately one millimeter thinner and nearly 10% lighter than the previous generation.

Google claims that the updated construction makes the foldable three times more durable than its predecessor. Its large inner display supports multitasking, real-time translation and a new sign-to-text accessibility feature.

Pixel 11 prices and release date

US prices start at:

• $899 for the Pixel 11;

• $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro;

• $1,299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL.

Preorders are open, with retail availability scheduled for August 20, 2026. Pixel 11 Pro Fold pricing and availability may vary by market and configuration.

Every Pixel 11 model comes with seven years of Android OS upgrades, security patches and Pixel Drop updates. That long support period, combined with the improved cameras and integrated AI tools, is likely to be one of the lineup’s strongest selling points.
