Since its formation over 4.5 billion years ago, Earth has been struck numerous times by asteroids and comets whose orbits bring them into the inner Solar System. These objects, collectively known as Near-Earth Objects (NEOs), continue to pose a threat to Earth today. Depending on the size of the impacting object, such a collision can cause massive damage on a local to global scale.

The Asteroids™ application enables you to monitor the positions and trajectories of all known asteroids and comets in our Solar System. To do this, it continuously calculates and updates the orbits of more than 1,500,000 such objects, using data obtained from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. For NEOs, the data aligns with that from the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS). Selected asteroids, such as Ceres and Bennu, are even available as 3D models.
