Apple announced HomeView on October 13. The shared home screen starts at $299 in the US and goes on sale in its first markets on November 13. The European Union is absent from that launch. Apple has introduced the device, but EU customers have neither a sales date nor a local price.
Why the EU is missing from the launch
Apple says HomeView will not be sold in the EU because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there. The company says it is working with the EU to find a way forward, without giving a timetable. Its announcement therefore does not establish when an EU release might happen. Ukraine is also absent from the list of initial markets.
Preorders have opened in countries including the US, the UK and Canada. The advertised $299 is a US price; it is not an announced European price.
Siri AI is central to the pitch, with conditions
HomeView is designed as a screen that a household can share while showing personal information to a recognized user. It supports up to six people and brings smart home controls, FaceTime and other Apple services into a common space. That combination explains why the availability of Siri AI affects the device’s launch geography.
The most personal Siri AI requests have an additional requirement. Accessing context such as a person’s calendar or messages needs a paired iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence. Siri AI can still answer general questions without one. At launch, Siri AI on HomeView will be available in English and in beta. Buyers in the first markets will therefore need to check language and device compatibility alongside the price.
November 13 is the next confirmed milestone, when sales begin in the announced countries. Apple has not provided a date for an EU release or a broader language rollout.
