Bible by Life.Church for iOS and iPad

Bible by Life.Church, also known as the YouVersion Bible App, brings Bible reading, study materials, prayer tools and social features together in one app. It is available for iOS and iPad, and is suited to people who want to read regularly, explore different passages or study Scripture with friends.

Read, listen and explore

Choose from a wide selection of Bible versions and languages, then search the text or follow a guided plan. Plans cover specific topics, selected parts of the Bible and longer reading journeys. For versions that support it, audio playback includes controls for skipping, playback speed and a timer.

• Save passages with highlights and bookmarks, and add personal notes.
• Adjust text size, fonts and spacing, or use Dark Mode.
• Turn verses into images to share, or share passages by email, text message or social networks.
• Watch Bible-related videos available in the app.

Use it for personal study or with friends

For individual reading, you can keep notes private and organise prayers in lists. Prayer cards help you track requests and mark answered prayers. If you want to study with others, connect with friends, share selected activity and discuss passages through comments. Privacy options let you decide whether notes and prayers remain private or are shared.

Offline access and syncing

Some Bible versions can be downloaded for offline reading; this option is not available for every version. Audio Bibles are available for select versions, but they cannot be downloaded. A free YouVersion account syncs notes, highlights, bookmarks and reading plans across supported devices, so an account is useful if you want to continue your study on more than one device.

How to install Bible

1. Tap Download on this page to open the app’s page in the Apple App Store.
2. Check that the app name is Bible and the developer is Life.Church.
3. Tap the installation button in the App Store to install the app.

The app is free to install. Check the App Store listing for any current terms or conditions before downloading.
