Caller ID and Spam Protection

Phone by Google can display information about an unfamiliar business number before you answer. When a number is suspected of spam, the app shows a warning and lets you block or report the caller.

To identify businesses and potential spam, the device may send Google information about calls involving numbers outside your contact list. Google states that phone numbers from your personal contacts are not collected for this feature.

How to Install Phone by Google

1. Select the “Download” button on this page.

2. When the store opens, select “Install” or “Update.”

3. Open the app when the installation is complete.

4. Grant the required permissions and, if prompted, set Phone by Google as your default calling app.
