Samsung Calendar for Android: Events, Tasks and Widgets

Samsung Calendar is an Android productivity app for keeping events and tasks in one place. It is suited to people who want to review their schedule by day, week, month or year, set event notifications and see upcoming plans from a home-screen widget.

Organise schedules and tasks

You can add different calendars, including Google Calendar, and use colour coding to distinguish events by calendar. Switch between day, week, month and year views, or use the task view to review tasks. Horizontal swipes let you move between dates and periods.

When creating an event, you can set a recurring pattern and time zone. The app also offers weekly weather information and a choice of widgets with adjustable transparency, so you can keep a schedule visible on your home screen.

Permissions to consider

Calendar and notification permissions are required for adding and checking schedules and receiving event alerts. Other permissions are optional:

• Contacts: invite attendees or display contacts’ birthdays.
• Location: save a location with a schedule entry.
• Photos and videos: attach a file to a schedule entry.

Optional permissions are not needed for the app’s default functionality, but the features associated with them may not be available unless access is granted.

How to download and install

Samsung Calendar is free to install. On this page, tap Download to open its Google Play listing. Check that the app is Samsung Calendar and that the developer is Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., then tap the install button in Google Play.
