Link to Windows for Android: Connect to a Windows PC
Link to Windows connects an Android phone with Phone Link on a Windows PC. It lets you handle selected phone tasks from your computer, which can be useful when you are working at a desk and want to check messages or photos without picking up your phone. The app is free to install.
What you can do from your PC
- Read and reply to text messages, and view phone notifications.
- Open photos from your phone on the computer, then copy, edit or move them between devices.
- Make and receive calls from the PC when it has Bluetooth and meets the relevant requirements.
- On compatible phones, use selected mobile apps, view the phone screen, or drag files between the phone and PC.
- Copy and paste content between devices where supported.
Using the PC’s larger screen, keyboard, mouse or touch screen can make these tasks more convenient during work or study. The available features depend on the phone model and the Windows PC; not every device supports every option.
Compatibility to check
Link to Windows is for Android and works alongside Phone Link on a Windows PC. Calls require a Windows 10 PC with Bluetooth. Phone screen, Apps and file drag-and-drop are limited to compatible Microsoft, Samsung or HONOR devices. The multiple-apps experience also requires Android 11 or later and a Windows 10 PC with the May 2020 Update or later and at least 8 GB of RAM.
On some Microsoft, Samsung and HONOR phones, Link to Windows is integrated, so a separate Play Store installation may not be needed. On other supported Android phones, install the app and connect it with Phone Link on your PC.
Accessibility option
People who use a screen reader on their PC can enable the Link to Windows accessibility service to navigate phone apps with a keyboard and hear spoken feedback through the PC. This option is intended for screen-reader use.
