Google Wallet for Android: Payments, Passes and Tickets
Google Wallet is a digital wallet for Android that brings payment cards, transit passes, tickets and loyalty cards together on your phone. It can be useful for everyday contactless payments as well as keeping travel and event passes handy.
Everyday uses
- Pay in person: Use your phone for contactless payments at businesses that accept Google Pay.
- Keep passes together: Store eligible transit passes, tickets and loyalty cards in one place instead of carrying each one separately.
- Manage travel details: Wallet can show boarding passes and send travel notifications. Flight information may include updates such as gate changes or delays.
- Review activity: Find transaction details and, where available, related location information from Google Maps.
Wallet can also connect with Google services: saved items may be imported from Gmail, and Wallet information can sync with Calendar and Assistant. Loyalty balances and benefits may appear in services such as Maps and Shopping.
Availability and features to know about
Google Wallet is available for Android phones running Android 9.0 or later. It can also be accessed on Wear OS watches, including through shortcuts on the watch face. Not every feature is available for supervised accounts. Driver’s licences and digital car keys are listed as US-only features, and contactless payments work where Google Pay is accepted.
For contactless payments, Google says the phone does not share your real card number with the business. Android features such as 2-Step Verification, Find My Phone and remote data erasure can also help you manage account and device security. These features do not mean that every card, pass or function is available in every location.

- Check that the app is Google Wallet and the developer is Google LLC.

Google Wallet is free to install. Whether it fits your needs depends on the payment methods and passes available to you and on which features are supported in your location.
